With Kim Jong Un taking over Pyongyang’s top political leadership, North Korea is opening up but still not much. Using our connections, Jumbo Golf is proud to be among the first travel agencies in Hong Kong to offer a 6 Days – 5 Nights “(Beijing) Pyongyang Exploration & Golfing Escort-Led Tour”. (As there is no direct flight from Hong Kong, we will have to spend a night in Beijing before catching a morning flight from Beijing International Airport direct to Pyongyang on the very next day.)

During these few days, you will have a rare opportunity to visit this mysterious country known for its heavy political propaganda, natural landscape, historical monuments and tightly regimented civilian lifestyle – and take a close look from within.

Most surprising for golfers is the chance to tee off at a manicured golf course – Pyongyang Golf Course – twice. Given that there are only 8 to 10 golfers in this course on a daily basis, you can imagine what a privilege it is to play at this highly exclusive golf resort.

In Pyongyang, you will be treated to a mass calisthenics spectacle – Arirang Mass Performance by over 100,000 entertainers – in a huge sports stadium. Staged only from mid-July to early September, a performance such as this is not something you can watch elsewhere in the world.

Although luxury travel is virtually unheard of in North Korea, you will be offered the best food and accommodation by local standards. Among the specialty meals you will be enjoying are Traditional Koryo Barbequed Meat Meal, Koryo Steamboat Meal, Kaesong Korean Ginseng Chicken Soup Meal and Special Pyongyang Welcome Dinner.

We will be staying in Yanggakdo Hotel, the equivalent of a four-star (by international standard) property in Pyongyang. Rising to an overall height of 170 meters, being the second tallest building in the capital city, it has a revolving restaurant on the 47th floor, with 1,000 rooms and a total floor space of 87,870 square meters.

Grab the chance and be among the first from Hong Kong to visit Pyongyang before the country succumbs to mass tourism!
